A haiku is a Japanese poem . It does not rhyme. The first sentence is 5 syllables, the second sentence is 7 syllables and the third sentence is 5 syllables. They are usually written about nature.
Here are three that I had to write for literature today.
SUN
The sun is shiny
It shines through the window sill
It shows very nice
RAINBOW
Blue, red, yellow, green
Arches over the blue sky
It is colorful
LIGHTNING
Is a streak of light
The flash is across the sky
Its light is scary
